Supplemental Information: Arginine…Argi-Who??

by Scott on July 18th, 2007

large.jpgArginine. What is it and what’s it good for? Arginine is an amino acid that functions as a vasodilator, meaning it widens the blood vessels by increasing the bodies nitric oxide levels. By widening your blood vessels this obviously increases blood flow and optimizes delivery of oxygen, hormones and nutrients to the muscle and also helps remove waste products. Research on subjects taking arginine suppliments have shown significant increase in muscle strength.

There are many arginine supplements out on the market and 99% of them have other branch chain amino acids included in the ingredients and sometimes an added caffeine to get it flowing in your bloodstream.
