Once Again People With Money Do Stupid Things!
There should be a show like the wildest police chases. We can call it Worlds Richest Dumb-asses and maybe we can get Robin Leach to host and commentate it.
Vince McMahon, the CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment has been under scrutiny since the early 90’s for steroid use and distribution to his wrestlers. Well before th Chris Benoit tragedy unfolded, a handful of WWE stars were under investigation for steroid use due to records found back in March from a Doctor that was prescribing steroids, which are controlled substances to the wrestlers without record of examination and legitimate reason for prescription.
Fast Forward, post-Benoit family Murder suicide. Vince is now under investigation by congress. Following the Benout incident, McMahon pleaded that steroid tests were conducted and sports health and wellness implements were used to deter and discourage steroid use. Unfortunate for Vince there are disgruntled former employees that want the use of steroids to stop and many claim that the WWE (no sepcification) provided resources for the wresters and actually encourage them to use steroids and HGH (human groth hormone) to enhance themselves for the business.
In the past many professional wrestlers have died and some autopsies have been determined that cause of death was due to enlarged heart. As you know steroid enhance the human bodies protein synthesis and promote rapid muscle growth. Regular exercise already increases the size and strength of the heart, but with steroid use the heart grows more than it should. Steroids make muscles grow faster with exercise. The heart is an ever working muscle. I’m not a rocket surgeon but something tells me, DUH!
Vince I’m sure is saying somewhere that these guys know the risks and are not forced to use them. This is true. Vince is not the only guilty one here. Bottom line is steroid use is illegal and unhealthy. Some may argue that they can be used in moderation and for short periods. While there may be some truth to that statement, the ultimate truth is 96% (and I’m pulling that out of the air) don’t do it for a short time in moderation. Through hard work you can achieve almost the same results. It may take a lot more time and a lot more work but in the long run you will be healthier and not suffer any side effects.
The wrestlers that are speaking out such as former WWE diva, Joanie Laurer, or better known as Chyna was on CNN and pleaded that she wants to see it stop because her friends are dying, people she cares about are at risk. Back in 1992 Terry Bolea or Hulk Hogan as you may know him admitted to steroid use and some say pointed the finger at Vince, which he adamantly denied. The MLB is just happy that they aren’t the only ones in the lime-light.
