Health Care Is Cheaper For Men
Yes, out of pocket health care is cheaper for men. Why? Because we don’t have breasts (well most of us don’t), a uterus and babies. Where did I get this information? The bathroom magazine rack. Yep I was taking care of business this morning (Yeah, I know, too much info. Sorry) and I was thumbing through my wifes Glamour magazine when I came across this article.
It has some good tips that may save your significant other or you, whoever pays the bills, some money. With all the complicated female medical things, women often half to have quite a few medical appointments a year to ensure their health. This is also a reason why health insurance is usually higher for men. Because we are more of risk takers or just plain stubborn. We put off aches and pains and dismiss them when perhaps we should go check them out.
Anyway back to the money saving tips that you can give your spouse, girl friend, mother, sister, whoever. Print them up and pass them on.
“1. Tack a cholesterol, STD and any other tests your doctor recommends to an existing appointment so you’ll have one co-pay instead of two or three.
2. Ask your doctor if you can get a Pap test every two or three years instead of annually. If you’ve had three normal Paps in a row and test negative for HPV, chances are you can.
3. Consider Federally Qualified Health Centers (Go to ask.hrsa.gov/pc to find one in your area) that charge based on your income.”

Extremely well written even though you got your inspiration from the toilet!
Well, if men observe the golden rule of eating 3 meals per day properly and healthy, sleep early and exercise well, eat fruits, try not to smoke and drink, then he would be also be able to save alot of money on paying the doctor a visit.
But of course, paying a doctor once in a while to check on one’s physical condition is also useful as well!

As a small business owner I can say this is very true. I have to pay much higher premiums for health care for the women in my office than the men in the office.
