Chaser Hangover Prevention
With all the posts about Hangover remedies and such, I thought I would give a quick review of Chaser. Chaser came out a few years ago and is supposed to help prevent a hangover. You take a bunch of these tablets while you drink and the next day your not supposed to have a hangover.
I tried this stuff back in 2004. For me it didn’t work. The problem I have with this stuff is that you have to REMEMBER to take these while your drinking. Come on now?! If your drinking and have every intention to drink to the point that you know that your going to be hungover the next day then obviously you plan on drinking quite a bit. When you drink that much it’s hard enough to remember to zip your fly after exiting the rest room so chances are your not going to remember to pop a hand full of Chasers. I guarantee if I had these in my pocket last night I would not have remembered to take them in the midst of a drunken attempt to play “Every Rose” on acoustic guitar while others butchered the lyrics. Below are the directions for taking Chaser as directed from their website
Directions
(Per drinking session): Take two caplets with your first drink. For best results, take two more caplets every two to three hours (or five to six drinks) thereafter. To prevent dehydration from alcohol drink plenty of water or sports drinks.
The best way to prevent a hangover? Don’t abuse alcohol.

I would just like to point out that amylase does not break starches down into alcohol. It actually breaks starches down into sugars. What kind of sugar depends which amylase. Yeasts can then turn those sugars into alcohol. I don’t think yeasts can survive in the gastric environment.

Hangoff works wonders for me. And here’s me thinking that the only cure was a big bacon and egg burger lol
