Supplement Sell Outs | What Or Who To Believe
You ever flip through a fitness magazine and see how many adds for supplements are in there. You start reading an article on a bodybuilder and you flip the page just to find out it’s an add for a nitric oxide stimulator or protein? Kind of gets annoying.
It makes you wonder how much is fact and how much is sponsorship selling B.S. I, for one think that Jay Cutler doesn’t use all those Muscletech products that he is quoted as saying Nano Vapor “It’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced before.” and “My muscles felt jacked like they were going to explode.”. Um, Jay? Come on.
I understand that these bodybuilders need these sponsors to do what they do, but if you took every word that these guys say in ads and bought every product ever sold by the words of a bodybuilder, not only would you be broke, but you would be disappointed as well. Am I saying that supplements are all hype and don’t work? Absolutely not! What I’m saying is do your research and see what works for you. Not everything is going to work for everybody. Just because Victor Martinez says a supplement works doesn’t mean that it will work for you. You can take every supplement, every protein, every N.O. stimulator, every natural testosterone booster and you would still get nowhere without a lot of hard work. Thats where a lot of people fail. And on top of all this here is something else to think about. Are these bodybuilders really healthy? Honestly, no. Here is a rather old post at healthbolt.com. It covers a lot of things you wouldn’t know about bodybuilders. You may think they would be healthy by the look of them but like anything, looks can be deceiving.
So why do I work out and use supplements? I work out because I enjoy it and I spent way too much time letting myself get flabby and worked way too hard working it off just to let all that come back. I take supplements because I feel they can help me achieve lean muscle mass at a moderate pace without having to eat ungodly amounts calories at a time. I’m a weight lifter, not a bodybuilder. My goal is a better stronger body, not an award. A stronger healthier body is it’s own reward.
So next time you see that ad with the hugs back of Ronnie Coleman or the huge Arms of Frank Macgrath, just remember they got that way working hard…and maybe taking a little more than protein powders if you catch my drift.
