Stressed Out, Strung Out, And Wore Out
One of my personal new years resolutions to myself was to get back in to better shape. I’m not totally out of shape but I know I need to get back on track as I said in a past post. How have I done so far? Terrible! Starting off the new year with a cold, got over that started working out again a few days and felt good….for a brief moment.
Work has been crazy lately. The place I love so much to work at has been stressing myself and a lot of other people out. You see, the company was bought out this time last year and the new owners had to do some house cleaning with employees in order for it to run better. it has worked wonders but now we have a problem where a customer is making us feel as if we aren’t doing our jobs well because their system requires us to do more than we can with the resources that we have available. Easy solution? Not quite. So as some of us look as if we are the source of the problem and the bigger dogs in the yard try to search for a solution by sniffing out possible causes people go on the defense and it makes an appearance of bad attitude when in retrospect the problem is not the employees but the customer and the way they are ordering product.
So here I sit late at night kin of venting on this subject because I’m actually losing sleep trying to think of a way to approach the boss and enlighten him on a lot of things that could change and that have been argued to change but have been shot down…just to be re-evaluated and re credited to another person, and that really ticks me off. We have continually gotten better and improved on a lot of things in the past year and have got rid of one problem customer that was bleeding us dry due to the last owners. Now we have a new costumer that we want their business and we want more but we can’t go on taking their orders the same way because it make for an emotionally, mentally, and physically exhausted staff due to ass-chewing rolling down hill. Another problem is that when someone opens their mouth and they are not high enough on that proverbial totem pole, they are not listened to and that throws some nuts in the gears of the machine.
T his isn’t a post about mental health and stress, it’s more of a post for MY mental health and stress. I’m getting a lot of things off of my chest right here right now before I go in tomorrow and try to enlighten a few people on how a few thing that should be taken into consideration before telling someone how they have a bad attitude and then go talking about it to others that have no business hearing of the conversation or contributing their opinion when they have their own departmental demons that need a good slaying. As opposed to going to human resources and adressing the problem like I should, I feel I need to be an adult about it and go to the source. Other wise by this time tomorrow I may be blogging full time…
Anyway, I’m signing off. If you have read this far then I commend you for listening to my B.S. and if you have any input on this by all means PLEASE.
