Rush Hour Work Out
MSN Health posted a great article on q quick workout you can do just about anywhere when time is short and space is limited. All you need is a little motivation and a pair of dumbbells. Check it out.
Q: Hey, Muscle Guy! How can I work out when the gym is packed?-Jasper, Tallulah, LA
A:Grab a pair of dumbbells and find a space with a few feet to operate. (By Mike Mejia)
You’ll perform 5 or 6 strength moves in succession, working a variety of muscle groups. This extended set is known as a “complex.”
How it works: Choose a weight that allows you to execute the hardest exercise in your complex. In the example below, your limiting exercise would be the curl and press. You’ll use the same pair of dumbbells throughout for a challenging, nonstop routine. Complete 6 to 10 reps of each exercise.
Your full-body rush-hour routine with dumbbells:
Stand holding a dumbbell in each hand, arms hanging straight at your sides, palms facing in. Lunge forward with your right foot, then return to the starting position. Step backward with your left foot and lower your body until your right thigh is almost parallel to the floor. After returning to the starting position, perform a forward lunge with your left foot, then a backward lunge with your right foot.
