Cardio Can Boost Your Brain Power

According to the January Issue Of Muscle And Fitness Magazine, cardio can actually help with brain function. The researchers in the following quote came up with this theory after testing rats in a maze and observing them work the maze after exercising the rats.

“Researchers hypothesized that exercise increases Brain-Derived Neurotrphic Factor (BDNF), a critical growth factor for brain tissue, which enhanced the exercising rats’ ability to learn a maze. This means that regular cardio may enhance BDNF, helping you remember better and improving your cognitive ability at work or school. Be sure to include a minimum of 20 minutes of cardio three times per week to help lose fat, enhance your cardiovascular health and boost your brainpower.”
