LIFE Dream Destinations | 100 Of The World’s Best Vacations
I know this may be something a little better suited for the Travel & Culture Channel but I was given an opportunity to review this book and do a promo on it. Below my review is the press release for the book.
LIFE always brings pictures and text in books together in a beautiful way, everyone knows that. Dream Destinations is no exception. This book is filled with some of the most beautiful pictures of 100 Dream Destinations as they state. Africa’s Victoria Falls is always an exhilarating scene whether it’s in a book, on TV but I imagine nothing is more sureal than actually being there. Borneo’s Rainforests, Cape Town, the cover picture of Captain Cook’s Polynesia, Beijing’s Forbidden City, The Netherlands and Transylvania are just a few of the 100 Dream Destinations you can see within this book.
Cooperstown NY, a town I’ve been to a few times as a child, holds some great places to visit such as The Farmers Museum where you can take a tour of an 18 century style town where everything is done authentically as they did back then. Even some of the buildings in the tour were brought in piece by piece and rebuilt. Historic Doubleday Field is just steps away from on of my favorite places we used to go on school field trips…The Baseball Hall Of Fame! Where else can you see Babe Ruth’s original Yankees uniform among thousand of other baseball artifacts so to speak. The book even states “For problematic reasons Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens may never get in-but you can!”. There are many other places in Cooperstown to visit. I do recall somewhere around or in Cooperstown a Life Saver Candy factory if I’m not mistaken. I’m not sure if it is still there or active but it was always fun going by and seeing this giant Life Saver.
I’m not a big book buyer of this sort but I’m very happy that I got this opportunity to do a review on this book and sit with my 1 and a half year old daughter who loves books and flip through it and enjoy the beauty of places that I will probably never see in my lifetime. If your a collector and/or reader of books of this type I would highly recommend picking up Dream Destinations for you collection and reading enjoyment.
