Ch-Ch-Ch-Cheerios! Are You Ready For the Challenge?

by Scott on August 7th, 2008

Cheerios (General Mills) I like Cheerios. Always have since I was a kid. I used to dump about 3 table spoons of sugar on them. That would explain my hyper-activeness and the reason that I always held  little bit of weight. What I like these days is Honey Nut Cheerios. They are not that high in sugar and have the same benefits of regular Cheerios, plus there is a wide variety of Cheerios to choose from these days. People have heard about how eating Cheerios, oats and oat cereals can help reduce cholesterol. But how many have actually made an attempt to get themselves on a oat rich diet to reduce their cholesterol before it becomes a problem? Most people don’t think about their cholesterol until it has become a problem. With that said, what better time than NOW to start thinking about your cholesterol BEFORE it becomes a problem and Cheerios wants to help.

A clinical study found that eating two 1 ½ cup servings of Cheerios cereal daily for 6 weeks reduced bad cholesterol an average of 4 percent as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol.

Cheerios is on a mission to improve the heart health of the nation. In just two days, Cheerios has already given away one million free bowls of free cereal, and is still giving away $6 in coupons at www.CheeriosChallenge.com You can become a participant of the Cheerios Challenge by pledging to lower their cholesterol 4 percent in 6 weeks and receive weekly e-mails with heart healthy diet tips, coupons and ongoing inspiration at www.CheeriosChallenge.com

Not a guy here, but I had to comment. I *love* honey nut cheerios. I also used to eat the regular ones with a ton of sugar.

geez, now I have to get me some Cheerios!
